Mięguszowiecki Szczyt

The first theme I ever came up with for the entire suite came from this piece. I still remember how completely absorbed I became in writing it. For several days, I kept playing the same motif on the piano, built around just a handful of keys. Everyone at home had had enough of me by then — including the piano. I think I may have even knocked it out of tune, and the hammers ended up needing some work.

And honestly, I kept putting my family through it once the first demo was finished in the 1990s. My wife and kids had to hear it almost every time they rode in the car with me. I fell in love with this piece back then, and if I’m being honest, that feeling has never gone away.
