THE STORY

Behind the music

This is the piece that closes the album — and in my mind, it truly closes something. To me, it is music for slowing down, letting go, and saying goodbye to a certain chapter, a part of life, or perhaps even life itself.

I feel that connection so strongly that I once asked for this piece to be played at my funeral — assuming, of course, that someday there is still someone there who wants to say goodbye. But I don’t see the music only in that context. That is simply my own very personal association with it.

While I was composing it, I became completely absorbed by its repetition. The main theme keeps returning almost like a loop, creating a calm, slightly magical, almost meditative atmosphere. The music doesn’t try to force the listener in any particular direction. It simply rocks you gently, slows everything down, and gives your thoughts room to drift. It pulled me in while I was writing it, and it still does the same whenever I listen to it.

So I don’t think of this only as music for an ending. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to leave earlier thoughts behind for a moment, close a chapter, sit quietly, and simply reflect. Sometimes that kind of pause is exactly what we need before something new can begin.
