THE STORY

Behind the music

This is a track I’ve released in three different versions. I simply like it, and I think that’s why I keep coming back to it.
It was originally written as an electronic piece, although it already included vocals and the words “Welcome to Heaven,” repeated almost obsessively. I remember writing the music in a real burst of inspiration.
Recording the first demo was quite an achievement. I used a reel-to-reel tape recorder and recorded each part live across four tracks, with a different instrument or element of the arrangement on each one. Those were the days.
This album version is smoother, calmer, and more orchestral, but it still keeps the same core idea that started it all.
